INSTALLATION
You can install DELEGATOR Multi-User's executable files (.exe, .dll ) on a central server or on each individual user's workstation. All data files (.tps), however, must be centrally located on a computer and the folder must be accessible to all users. You should also place a copy of the files delegatm.hlp and delegatm.cnt in the shared data folder.
We recommend installing executable files on individual workstations because it provides faster performance and reduces demand on your network. However, this approach requires more effort to administer upgrades and add new users. The following instructions assume you are the System Administrator and are placing the executable files on individual workstations.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Installing DELEGATOR for the first time
1. Run the self-extracting archive to install the DELEGATOR executable files onto the workstation.
2. Create a shared folder on your server to hold the DELEGATOR data. This folder must have write access for all workstations using DELEGATOR.
3. On the workstation, change the Start In property of the DELEGATOR Shortcut to the new shared folder. See below for instructions on changing the Start in property.
4. If you are installing the evaluation version, copy the file syslic2.tps from the folder you installed DELEGATOR into to the shared data folder. If you are installing the licensed version from diskette, the syslic2.tps file can be found Disk 2
5. Repeat steps 1 and 3 for each workstation.
6. Run DELEGATOR for the first time, using 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' (hold down the A key) as the user name and '1111111111' (hold down the one key) as the password.
Be sure at least one other System Administrator user ID has been set up before deleting the 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' ID.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the licensed version of DELEGATOR
Most likely your organization has already installed the Evaluation version of DELEGATOR. If so, follow the steps in this section. If not, go to 'Installing DELEGATOR for the first time.'
1. If the version number of the licensed version and the evaluation version is the same (e.g. 3.2a), simply replace the syslic2.tps file in your shared DELEGATOR data directory with the new one you received from us by e-mail or diskette. That's all.
2. If the version is newer, also do steps 1 and 3 of 'Installing DELEGATOR for the first time' for each workstation using the diskette we sent you with this manual or the self-extracting archive you downloaded.
------------------------------------------------
Changing the Start In Property
Setting the Start In property is crucial for operating DELEGATOR
Windows 95/NT
Right click the Start button. Click Open, click Programs, click DELEGATOR Multi-User. Right click DELEGATOR Shortcut, then click Properties, click Shortcut Tab, edit Start In.
Windows 98/ME/2000
The above procedure can be used in Windows 98. Alternatively, a shorter procedure can be used: Click Start, then click Programs. Right click DELEGATOR, then click Properties, click Shortcut Tab, edit Start In.
See your Windows documentation for further details if needed.

Uninstalling
If you decide not to license DELEGATOR, you can remove all DELEGATOR files from your system by deleting the directory where you installed DELEGATOR and then deleting the DELEGATOR Program Group.
Please let us know why you chose not to license DELEGATOR. Any comments you have will help us develop products and services that better meet the needs of people like you.
