TROUBLE SHOOTING
---------------------------------------------
'File Creation Error' Message
This message occurs when ResSched cannot find the System License file (syslic3.tps). The most likely causes of this problem are:
1. The Start In property of the ResSched Shortcut does not point to the shared central data folder (directory) you created during installation. Remedy: Enter the full path to the central shared folder in the Start In property.
2. The System License file isn't in the shared central data directory. Remedy: Move the syslic3.tps from where you installed the ResSched executable files to the shared central folder.
3. The workstation does not have access to the shared central folder that contains the ResSched data. This is a common problem on peer-to-peer networks. Remedy: Give the workstation access rights to the shared folder.
-------------------------
Empty Data File
A user gets empty ResSched browse windows and reports. Usually, it is a new user or workstation. Other users can see and print ResSched information.
The Start In property of the new user's ResSched Shortcut does not point to the shared central data folder (directory) created during installation. Remedy: Enter the full path to the central shared folder in the new user's Start In property.
-----------------------------------------------------
Date Format Isn't Right
Dates don't fit properly in some functions.
ResSched uses your Windows settings for date formats. For browsing or other situations where space is tight, the Windows short format is used. Where space is available, such as in displaying entry fields, the Windows long format is used. Date formats are selected from the Windows Control Panel.

Still Getting Old Settings for Scan or Default
The System Administrator has changed the Scan or Default settings in System Preferences, but users are still getting their old settings.
To apply new system scan or default settings to existing users, the System Administrator must check the Apply to Existing Users box before saving the new settings.

Authorizing General Users To Book Specific Resources
General Users have been added to ResSched, but each time they try to book a resource they are informed that they are not authorized to make that booking.
Before a general user can book a resource, he or she must be authorized by a System Administrator or Resource Administrator to do so. There are two ways to do this:
1. If the general user is to be allowed to book all resources, open the Add/Update Users window, accessed from File>Users>Add/Edit Users, and then click the Insert button. On the Add/Update Users window, click the General User radio button and then click the Authorize for All Resources check box. Only a System Administrator can change user properties.
2. If the general user is to be allowed to book only some resources, open the Add/Update Resource window, accessed from Resources>Add Resource. Click inside the General Users Authorized to Book list box, then click the Insert button. The Browse Users - Multiple Select window will appear. Select the general user and then click the OK button. Both System and Resource administrators can update resources.

What Is The Difference Between A Pooled Resource And A Resource Group?
Resource groups is a shortcut way of grouping resources that are often booked together or can be viewed together in a Scan or Browse window.
Pooled resources, on the other hand, are inventoried resources that you do not want to book individually and you want to know there are enough of them available to meet the requirements for bookings. Stacking chairs, folding tables and projectors are examples of possible pooled resources.
