ResSched™ 9.605– Information for Current users

ResSched 9.605 for current ResSched licensees and evaluators.

Updating from 9.2 and up.

No data conversion is required. Simply download and run the appropriate installation archive below and select the same folders your have now.  For Corporate Wide Area administrators, if you are updating the data server components make sure anyl C60x.dll's are removed from the data server folder.

Updating from versions before 9.2

To update previous versions of ResSched to version 9.2, you must convert your data. You may wish to print this page as reference for converting.

For Corporate Edition Wide Area Version

1. Download Corporate Edition Client\Server setup below and run it on the Windows machine that will act as the server.
   
2. Choose the 'Complete' setup type
   
3. Copy your existing resdata.tps, users.tps, and syslic3.tps files into the new data folder setup created on the server (usually C:\ClarionDataServer)
   
4. Run convold.exe in the server data folder and specify the data folder as the location of the data and the version you are converting from.
   
5. Run the setup program on each worstation, choosing 'Workstation only' as the setup type; or use the Shortcuts only setup type if the program files are all located on another machine in the workgroup.
   .
6. Tell each user the IP address of the server and the port used (2339 by default)
   

1. Download and run setup.exe and respond to the queries. By default ResSched installs program files into the folder ‘C:\Program Files\Madrigal\ResSched Standard ’ which may be different from where you have ResSched now. You will also be asked for the location of your data folder. If you don't know the location of your data files, check the Start in property of the ResSched Shortcut on your desktop before you start.
   
2. After installing ResSched, double check the ResSched Shortcut properties. The Target property should be' resschm.exe' in the folder you specified for the program files. The Start in property should be the folder you specified for ResSched data.
   
3. Use the Shortcut to run the new ResSched version. You will be asked if you want to convert your data. Assuming you have made a back up of your data files, click Yes. Enter the location of your ResSched data files (*.tps) and which version you are converting from and then click Convert.
   
4. If you want ResSched installed on each workstation instead of just on the server, repeat steps 1 and 2 for each work station.
   
5. If your workstations only have shortcuts without the program files, make sure the Target property is resschm.exe in your new ResSched program.

Note : If you are using ResSched in a single user environment your data folder and ResSched program folder are likely the same.

We recommend that you turn on 'Cache resources at start up' in System Preferences.

For clients with custom accessory programs

If you purchased a custom accessory programs used with ResSched 8.2 or earlier, please contact us to arrange for it to be converted to work with version 9.605. There is no charge to convert these programs.

One year of technical support and free updates came with your original license. If it has been more than one year since you purchased your license or last support extension, you will be prompted to renew your support and updates each time you run the new version of ResSched. You can do that by clicking on the appropriate link below.

You must know the number of update users you have licensed and whether you have the unlimited view only user option. You can get this information by looking at About ResSched under Help in the ResSched main menu. If you are still not sure, please call us at 1.888.291. 2911 or 1.250.733.2570, or e-mail us at sales@madrigalsoft.com to find out. The fee for updating your license is 20% of the new license fee. This license renewal entitles you to all new releases of your ResSched edition for one year.

5 Year U.S. Special Days file

Add five years worth of commonly observed U.S. public holidays to your ResSched Special Days list. Simply download the data file speca.tps into your ResSched data directory/folder. Then go into ResSched System Preferences - Special Days, click on Add File, and select speca.tps. Please note this list of special days is neither comprehensive nor localized. After adding the file, review your list of special days to make sure it reflects your circumstances
