User access decisions |

Before installing and using ResSched Web, you should give some thought on how you want it to work. In particular, you should consider who you want to be able to access ResSched and what do you want them to be able to do.
Existing ResSched Users
Users you have already entered for the ResSched Corporate Edition will have the same rights to view or make bookings in ResSched Web. However, the system and resource administrators must still use the Corporate Edition to carry out most of their administrative functions. Current users will log on to ResSched Web and enter their user name and password as they do now
Public and Semi-Public Users
View Only
ResSched Web makes it possible to provide view and limited booking access to public or semi-public (e.g. students at a university) users. For simple view access, a system administrator creates a view only ID using the ResSched Corporate Edition and specifies which resources and resource groups the view only ID can access. At this point, anyone connecting to ResSched Web could simply log on if they knew the ID and password. But you can also include the view only ID and password as part of URL and connect directly from an external web page. See Integration with your web site for how to create the URL
Reserve Users
For organizations that have licensed the public reservation option, ResSched Web also allows public or semi-public users to make reserve status bookings of selected resources. These users must use their e-mail address as their username which you can filter for acceptability (see server settings). Reserve status bookings are usually shown in a different color from normal bookings which is chosen in System Settings of the ResSched Corporate Edition. ResSched Web can be set to e-mail a notification to an administrator whenever a reserve booking is made.
