What is the difference between the Wide Area and Local version of the Corporate Edition?

Top  Previous  Next

The ResSched Corporate Edition comes in two versions, a local network version and a wide area version.

The local network version is suitable for organizations running on single reliable local area network with spare capacity and low scheduling volume.  It is the easiest to install with the data residing on a central file server and program running on each workstation.  For easier administration, the program files can be stored on the server, but they still run on the workstation.

The wide area version is a true client server application intended for those organizations that operate a wide area network, or wish to provide access to their users over a VPN or the public Internet.   You should also use the wide area version if your local network is unreliable, already substantially burdened, or slow.
